Deployment Choices
There are three major deployment models for K8s clusters. The choice depends on your requirements.
Full On-Premise 
For organizations where data location is non-negotiable. Clusters run on dedicated hardware across Danish datacenters — fully within EU jurisdiction and independent of American hyperscalers.

Full Cloud
For organizations that have decided non-EU hyperscalers are an acceptable risk. Public cloud managed Kubernetes (AKS, OKE, EKS) adds convenience during design and implementation, but can be more expensive in operation due to egress fees and elastic pricing.

Hybrid
Hybrid architectures serve different operational goals. IS Nordic designs these based on well-established industry patterns, tuned closely to each client's infrastructure, compliance requirements, and cost model. Two configurations we are equipped to deliver:
Cloud control plane, on-premises workloads
The control plane runs as a managed cloud service — Azure Local is a primary example — while workload nodes run on your own hardware in Danish datacenters. You delegate control-plane management overhead to the cloud while keeping sensitive workloads on sovereign infrastructure.
On-premises control plane, cloud burst scaling
The control plane runs fully on-premises. A node autoscaler provisions cloud capacity automatically when traffic spikes beyond your baseline. Your steady-state workloads run on sovereign infrastructure; peak demand is absorbed by the cloud — and you pay for that capacity only when you actually need it.
GitOps & DevSecOps
IS Nordic clusters are managed via GitOps methodology for declarative, secure and auditable configuration management.
For our clients' product teams we can either integrate existing Dev(Sec)Ops pipelines or create and operate a modern DevSecOps service.
Declarative Change Management
All cluster changes flow through Git. We deploy ArgoCD or Flux to give you a complete audit trail, pull request-based approval workflows, automated drift detection, and automatic self-healing when configuration diverges from the declared state.
Policy Enforcement
Kyverno or OPA admission controllers run in every cluster, enforcing a curated default ruleset from day one. Customer-specific compliance requirements layer on top — whether that is restricting container registries, mandating resource limits, or enforcing namespace isolation policies.
Security Pipelines
Container image scanning integrated into your CI pipeline catches vulnerabilities before they reach production. Secret management through on-site or in-cloud vaults, keeping credentials out of Git and off cluster nodes. Let us integrate with or create your CI pipeline.
Keep Your Data in Denmark
Geopolitical uncertainty has made data jurisdiction a board-level concern across Denmark and the EU. IS Nordic provides Kubernetes infrastructure hosted entirely within Danish datacenters — full EU jurisdiction, complete GDPR alignment, and zero exposure to foreign surveillance law.
Under the US CLOUD Act, American authorities can compel US-headquartered cloud providers to hand over data stored anywhere in the world — without requiring a European court order. GDPR alone does not protect you if your cloud provider is incorporated in the United States.
Many organizations that migrated to hyperscale public clouds now face difficult trade-offs: foreign surveillance exposure, unpredictable egress costs, and increasing regulatory pressure under NIS2 and DORA. Repatriation to Danish infrastructure is the answer — and IS Nordic is the partner to make it happen.
Legal Jurisdiction
Your data stays in Denmark under Danish and EU law. No US CLOUD Act exposure. No FISA 702 reach. Full GDPR coverage by design — not by workaround.
